PJM Interconnection is the regional transmission organization that runs the transmission grid and the wholesale power market for Ohio and all or parts of a dozen neighboring states plus the District of Columbia. It dispatches generation, runs the capacity market, and — critically for this record — administers the interconnection queue that every new generator or large load must clear before it can connect.

PJM is where a data center's grid impact becomes visible at regional scale. Its queue, capacity-auction results, and load forecasts document the demand that hyperscale campuses are placing on the system, often earlier and more concretely than any local filing. As a federally regulated market operator PJM answers to FERC, while the physical facilities it interconnects are sited through state bodies like the Ohio Power Siting Board — so a single project leaves a trail across all three.
