Impact Level 6 is the highest tier in the Department of Defense's cloud security model, authorizing workloads classified up to SECRET. Reaching it requires a facility and its staff to meet stringent controls — physical separation, cleared personnel, accreditation — well beyond a commercial data center's baseline.
IL6 is a signal in the siting record because it narrows who a facility can be for. A campus built or accredited to IL6 is serving a government-secure mission, which constrains the operator, the tenants, and often the secrecy around it — a stronger confidentiality posture than a commercial hyperscale data center or a multi-tenant colocation site. Where the record hints at an IL6 requirement, the platform treats it as a lead about the customer and the purpose, held as an [inference] until an accreditation or contract document confirms it.
